PUPPY KINDERGARTEN
Barb's puppy classes are obedience classes for puppies.  The key is to start training early on before bad habits develop.  Teaching your puppy manners, rules and boundaries before adolescence (6 months of age).  Not only will your puppy learn many behaviours, but Barb offers a 10 minute period during each class where puppies learn to play correctly with each other.  Studies have proven that lack of socialization during the critical socialization window (6 to 16 weeks of age) contributes to behaviour problems later on.   Enrolling in puppy classes gives your puppy the opportunity to develop into a healthly, socialized and well mannered canine building a strong and trusting bond that will last a lifetime. 

CLASSES
- 6 weeks - 1 hour per week ($130.00)                                       - for puppies 10 to 20 weeks
- maximum 4 puppies per class

8 BEHAVIOURS WILL BE TAUGHT:
- introduction to clicker training
- impulse control (teaching calmness during times of stress,
  excitement)
- sit, down and really reliable recalls (come cue)
- stay and leave it and the start of loose leash walking
- proper greeting etiquette when meeting people (no jumping)
- waiting at doors (no more bolting when they see an open door)
- care and maintenance of your puppy
- socializing with other puppies teaching controlled methods of
  play (no bullying) and teaching owners how to interpret canine
  body language (max 10 minutes of playtime per class)


 
PRIVATE TRAINING - $50 per hour
Can't fit classes into your busy schedule?  Private lessons suited to your schedule and individual training needs.  In the comfort of your home or at Barb's training facility.  Cost varies on travel distance. 

Puppy privates available the moment your new puppy arrives. Teaching manners, rules, boundaries right from the start so bad habits don't have a chance to even begin.  Puppies are very keen learners and at 8 weeks of age you can begin the training process.  Due to limited vaccinations, classes are unavailable but privates are a great tool to help you and your puppy off to a great start!!


LOOSE LEASH WALKING VIDEO

Here is Wendy and "CUB" - 3 1/2 month old Norwegian Elkhound puppy in class 5 of 6 puppy classes.

We teach loose leash walking in class 3 and as you can see, with alot of hard work, Wendy and Cub are walking beautifully.  Cub, believe it or not, always pulled when the leash was on.  With lots of reinforcement for having a loose leash and by not going forward when the leash tightens, Cub has learned what works!!!
